Chemical Abstract Service (CAS Numbers)

In 1980, the American Chemical Society introduced the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) as a substance search service to access the chemical registry system. The current Chemical Abstracts (CA) database contains over 23 million chemical substances and references to over 16 million document records from the chemical journal and patent literature. CAS registry numbers are unique identifiers for chemical substances. The registry number itself has no inherent chemical significance, but provides a simple way to identify a chemical substance.

Provided here is a limited list of substances, along with their CAS numbers and suggested analytical method.
